Use the Red Torpedo canister filter filled with Tri Base Carbon and maybe ph rock if your heart desires, and Right Now! Bacteria. The right now bacteria is laboratory proven to reduce nitrates aerobically, the only product on the market that does so. The tri base carbon when used in combination with the right now bacteria allows for aerobic nitrate reduction, 24 hour cycling and a permanent bio platform. All you need is this; enough carbon in your tank, you must use the right now bacteria, have the return water flowing at a rate of 10 times per hour, and have the return water returning to the tank, on top of the water surface, to skim the water surface.
