Testing & H2O Parameters: Aquarium Pharmaceuticals nitrate and pH done monthly. pH maintained at 8.0, specific gravity 1.0005, nitrates 40 mg/l or less. Maintenance & Supplements: 25% water change performed monthly by siphoning sand to remove detritus. Tap water is all I use for top off water and water changes. SeaChems Malawi Buffer to maintain pH, and evaporated sea salt purchased at Lowes to maintain GH. All supplements are added monthly during water change. Fish: From all three African great lakes. Mostly from Malawi, some from Tanganyika, and one Obliquiden from Victoria. My fav is Blimpie my Green Spotted Puffer who eats out of my hand. Décor: 120 lbs Caribsea Tahitian Moon Black Sand which is volcanic sand and will not affect your pH, Red Spider Wood, 200lbs of Lace Rock, several plastic plants from Instant Oceans Fancy Plant series, and a several accent Mexican Beach Stones....
