The other fish's from the first video are no longer with me and either died or was sold to the local pet shops so I could invest on other fish. The only fish that is still in the tank from the first video is the rainbow shark. I've had the Bush Fish in this tank for about 8 months now and he's grown quite a bit. I had him when he was just the size of a golf ball. The rest of the cichlids you see in the video have only been in the tank for a couple of months. They are still about half the size of their adult counterpart, so eventually I will have to buy a bigger tank, but they seem happy for now. Aggression is kept pretty low as they all have hiding places, and are fed a strict vegetational diet. Normally I don't see Bush Fish's with African cichlids due to the cichlids aggressive behavior, but so far, they haven't bothered mine. In fact, they try to stay clear from him. The tank is overstocked, but I really don't believe in the 1 inch per gallon thing. It seems kind of ridicules to me. As long as the water quality is kept at best, give the fish what they need, and the fish show normal behavior, good coloration & stay active (signifying good health and happiness) then you should be fine. Since I still go to college, water changes can be quite a hassle, so I have just recently implemented mangrove seedlings. They all have roots and some are beginning to have leaves. As far as I can tell, these are the best natural Nitrate filters I have ever used! In fact, it has stayed a consistent 5 ppm! and I haven't given the tank a water change in over 2 weeks! I was really surprised on how effective they were for such a heavily stocked tank! As far as ammonia and nitrites go, I haven't seen them in years! The tank has been running since 2006. I also have a freshwater clam thats been in there for almost a year. It really has not grown much, but it sure does move a lot, lol. But it generally stays near the middle of the tank, where the current is the strongest....
