What fish are better for my aquarium, mollies or platies?

I possess mollies already and i was thinking of effort platies as well, but the pet store employee told me mollies terminal longer and thrive in arduous environments meliorate than a platy. I was wondering if platies would be a waste of money?

10 gallon tank setup help?

I hit a 10 gallon tank 20"long,12"tall,10"wide , with a 15 congius filter & heater. 1"of gravel, 3 imitation plants, material grass 6"tall, woman sword 4.5"tall & a naif oval leaf plant 4"tall. A 2.5"tall diminutive imitation coral and a imitation sea actinozoan on a rock 2.5"tall. Everything is 2.5" panoramic except for the seafaring anemone and woman sword which are 4" wide. I was feat to get 5 Fancy guppies with daylong tails. I was wondering if they would be comfortable in the tank? Should I get more plants? It is category of roomy. I was going to get live plants but at my topical pet stores they don't look healthy, and most are covered in heaps of little snails. Probably the reason they aren't healthy? Also I'm feat to get a small siphon, any suggestions on which one to get? I already hit Tetra Min tropical flakes, there is a cyprinodont on the container so I'm guessing its guppy safe. Already place 1tsp of Jungle start right gas remover in the tank. Tank has been running for a day now,,just cleaned it discover yesterday with rattling hot water . Its my sisters old cell she exclusive kept her mollies for a year they she killed them with the commode because they got rattling big, she kept her cell nasty, it smelled really bad! : But since everything is used, do I requirement to do the cycle? I did clean everything with hot water so, I probably do. But meet checking, I don't want to blackball the fish. Also what is a hurried artefact to wheel that isn't expensive? And I undergo I'm going to requirement a water effort kit, some beatific outfit that isn't to expensive they can be re-used right? I know that was a bit long, I'm sorry but I want them to springy daylong happy lives. Is this s good combo of fish? and what's wrong with my gouramis?

Hi, i am unshoed up my 30 gallon equatorial freshwater cell and so far, here is my idea:
- 4 black mollies
- 2 chromatic gouramis i already hit these
- 6 black neon tetras i already have these likewise
- 4 german chromatic rams
- 2 pineapple swordtails

Is this a beatific combination?
Oh, and added question: My gouramis are always hiding in plants and decorations, and only reaching discover when my shack is dark, and the reddened is off. so at night usually I've read null about blue gouramis being nocturnal, so i don't really undergo ground they are performing same this. please help! thanks.
ps. My gouramis are not aggressive towards my neons, for whatever weird reason.... which is good!!!

how do i keep my tank from re-cycling?

I poverty to add a large filter to my tank and then advise the older one onto a small tank but i am scared to take it off and then the cell move cycling all over again and killing my balloon mollies and guppies.

What would help in keeping my cell from cycling all over?

Just got a newborn creamsicle Mollie yesterday and when I got home realized it was pregnant. Anyway it gave birth today so any tips on the fry. Main thing is how do I make trusty they eat?

Ok so i setup a 10 congius seek cell and got some platties and whatever mollies and then a murder parrot fish substantially the mollies ended up effort ICK and so did the parrot so i place ick communication in the tank and its wasent feat absent so i took the mollies and platys discover of the cell and place them is added cell after i distributed them my Blood parrot seek had no more ick on it but the mollies and platys ended up dieing except for my Balloon bellie poeciliid she lived so i put her backwards and the ick was gone from her likewise when i place her back but anyways it's been about a week and the fish seem healthy agian and no signs of ick i'm wanting to raise to a 20 gallon but is it innocuous to use whatever of the items i utilised in the tank they are in today or is ick ease there also is it innocuous to put the fish in the new cell erst it is setup any help would be great

will aquarium salt kill my snails and or plants?

okay so my 30g cell has around 20 platies,3 mollies,and 1 swordtail and a ton on snails. some platies hit ick only platies so i did a water modify added 2 tablets of penalization to aid ick and upraised temp. to 86F i also have tank salt should i add it? crapper it blackball my snails or plants? they are hornwort plants and added one i slope advert though. so is it safe? and i feature in a website that to impact ick you prototypal have to impact the fish and once they are free of ick to place them in added cell until the tank is treated. so transfer them and then impact the tank because ick cannot springy without the seek so do i HAVE to do this? i have another 30g tank where i crapper put them it is currently streaming with platies,glofish,cories and ottos but i wouldnt like to venture it it is my healthy tank i hit never had problems with that cell so i poverty to know if that is necessary to do. gratify support sorry for my separate on sentences i mean my fish are sick and i poverty answers.

why are all my fish sad?

most are at the bottom with their fins and eveningwear clamped they havent ate much so i checked the water and i got 20 nitrate,0 nitrite,hard water,high alkalinity,and ph at 6.8 and no ammonia. everything is perfect but why are they unactive? this is a somewhat new tank. been setup for around a month. it has a heater with temp. at 75F and 2 separate along with a bubble surround and live plants. no fake plants and a small cave and large urn. but why they sad? the fish are not new i hit had them before in a 10g cell so i upgraded i breeded these seek by the way and they were amend before. for the first some weeks in the newborn tanks they were ok today they are existence weird. should i do a liquid change? it has around 15 platies and 3 mollies and 1 swordtail.its a 30g tank by the way.

i also have added 30g tank that is hard naturalised with platies and glofish,cories,and ottos, and a ton of live plants and modify driftwood. today in that tank all the fish are super flourishing never had a problem with them but i patterned their liquid and everything is soured in that tank.the nitrate is at 40,nitrite 0,hard water,super low alkalinity,and ph was sour at 6.0! and a taste of ammonia .25 but they are all perfect. and i did not intermixture up the test strips alright i did it right. the cell with every the sad seek has amend liquid and the another tank has not so enthusiastic water but all seek are perfect. so what should i do? should i do a water change to the tank with the depressing fish modify though the liquid is fine? please help. they dont seem to be ending but they are hiding alot and resting at the bottom. and no they are not sleeping! gratify earnest answers only.will pick prizewinning answer after.
in my 2nd 30g cell it has platies and GLO FISH ok not goldfish ok dont intend potty they are glo fish which are zebra danios.
yes i use effort strips alright dustlike i module intend a master effort outfit but no i did not use any chemicals i know that and i never ingest soap to clean my tank. and the cell is cycled though the 2 separate were in the 10g cell which i utilised as a nurture tank and it had alot of advantageous bacteria. so whats the prizewinning liquid test kit i should get?
the decorations are seek safe,it a large urn that i got from petsmart a smaller cave i got from petco and black smoothen from petsmart. all springy plants are from petsmart the exclusive abstract that strength not be tank innocuous is this digit sway i got in there. but what can it mayhap be doing i washed it with water exclusive no clean or anything same that.

both thanks are filled with touch liquid from my sink in the kitchen but i ingest a liquid conditioner all the time as well as plant matter liquefied every month. they intend the aforementioned water but in digit cell there is driftwood which is why the ph is different. and i change the liquid every 2 weeks in my older 30g cell since it is established and has great filteration fluval 206 ammo and a HOB 30-60g separate so i dont vexation too such about that tank correct today the newborn cell is effort a water modify every hebdomad but should it be more often?
